Dorian Glynnett

Description:

An average looking man in his thirties with haunted eyes and a determined set to his jaw. He wears a much used tattered leather overcoat and hat. Dorian has a large black raven named Kaw for a pet that seems smarter than it should be.

Bio:
At 36 years old Dorian has a very weathered and seasoned look about him. He is fond of wearing avery used leather overcoat and hat that most would have thrown out a long time ago. He is a man of few words, but one that approaches every situation with a cold calculation that seems to border on the uncaring. Dorian’s personality has been shaped by the horrors and fighting he has seen while serving in Irori’s faithful ranks at the dreaded Worldwound. Boorn a poor farmer’s child from Taldor, he seemed to be drawn to the simple life of a monk. As part of his training he and his brothers traveled almost two thousand miles to help hold back the advancing demon hordes. While there he began dabling in arcane magic as an added weapon against the relentless enemy. He soon gave up the life of a monk and focused on expanding his magical knowledge. After a particularly bloody battle in which his magus mentor and his fellow brother monks all died very gruesomly and he only just barely survived (a cowardly act that haunts him still) Dorian left the Worldwound and came once more through the River Kingdoms. He ran into a woman named Amorra he had met briefly before in a single night of passion, who was a local of Restov to the north. He also discovered their brief meeting years before had resulted in him having a son he didn’t know about. Amorra asked him to come to Restov with her, to be a family and put the horrors of the Worldwound behind him, but Dorian was a haunted man still and could not agree. She left without him, and now almost a year has passed. Dorian has lost his faith in Irori and the other Gods. The scholars believe the Worldwound was caused by the death of a fellow diety. He believes the Gods could close it if they wished, but like to use mortals as pawns to do their dirty work. So much wasteful death is not necessary, but amusing to them. Dorian is sick of war and fighting. He feels that perhapse it is finally time for him to settle down and be at peace. So he made the long journey north to Restov with a merchant caravan to seek out Amorra and his son, but discovered she and the boy had traveled east into the ‘Stolen Lands’ as new settlers. Someplace called Varnhold.
